A$AP Rocky is launching a four-year scholarship for a first-time freshman at the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at Long Island University, AfroTech reported.
The scholarship will give the recipient additional access to the music industry, including direct guidance from top music professionals and an opportunity to learn inside the school’s Pro Dolby Atmos studio, according to AfroTech. The recipient will also be automatically accepted into the school’s exclusive academic and mentorship program.
Students must be enrolled as first-time freshmen for Fall 2027 and complete a written essay or submit a video explaining what drives them to pursue a career in sports, music, or entertainment at the school, AfroTech reported.
The Roc Nation School ensures that 25% of its students attend tuition-free and prepares students for careers in entrepreneurship, music, sports business, management, performance, and more, according to AfroTech. Alumni have gone on to work at Roc Nation, 508 Productions, and Vevo, while current and former students have landed opportunities with Universal Music Publishing Group, Interscope Records, iHeartMedia, Live Nation, SiriusXM, and Sugar Mountain Records.
Additional scholarship opportunities at the university have been provided by DJ Khaled, Megan Thee Stallion, LaMelo Ball, and Young Guru, who also serves as director of the Music Technology, Entrepreneurship & Production program, AfroTech reported.
