Addac System Unveils Addac406 Clock Bender Eurorack Module

ADDAC System announced the ADDAC406 Clock Bender, a new Eurorack module designed to introduce rhythmic complexity through odd time divisions. The 10HP module superimposes divisions onto existing patterns to create syncopation and atypical rhythmic foundations.

The Clock Bender is designed to transform static rhythmic patterns into dynamic and complex rhythmic layering. It enhances the rhythmic foundation set by the primary clock by allowing users to explore and generate rhythms in previously unattainable ways.

The module operates by taking an input clock signal and generating two new independent outputs. These outputs dynamically accelerate or decelerate the BPM toward a user-defined destination BPM over a specified number of beats. The result is that the output generation is never constant or predictable. The rhythm will always be dynamically accelerating or decelerating.

Whereas no interval between two pulses is the same, the current interval will always be shorter or longer than the previous interval. This principle generates unique metrics that, when played against the main clock, create unique patterns. These range from simple swing and syncopation to beyond free-jazz metrics.

The device provides extensive possibilities for rhythmic creation. It allows for the generation of completely unexpected patterns while maintaining mathematically justified metrics. The Clock Bender can make any rhythm more interesting and complex by superimposing extremely odd time divisions.
