Amy Grant and Cesar Gueikian visit Hunters Lane High School music students

Singer-songwriter Amy Grant and entrepreneur-musician Cesar Gueikian visited music students at Hunters Lane High School on October 6, mnps.org reported. The visit was organized through Save the Music’s Hometown to Hometown program, which provides new music technology classrooms to students.

Grant and Gueikian spoke to music teacher Allison Snyder’s class and listened to three students’ compositions before touring the school’s studio, according to mnps.org. Hunters Lane was a previous recipient of the program’s support.

Grant, who began writing songs as a teenager in the 1970s, encouraged students to keep capturing what they see and feel and told them they are capable of much, mnps.org reported. She described how music has sustained her through decades-long career challenges and said music continues to teach, free and connect her.

Gueikian, a global ambassador and former president and CEO of Gibson Guitars who is also an accomplished guitarist, urged students to be resilient, reliable and healthy, mnps.org reported. He told students that honesty, trustworthiness and reliability earn respect across everything they pursue.

Grant and Gueikian will both be honored at a Save the Music event in Nashville in November, according to mnps.org.
