The seventh edition of the Arezzo Youth Music Festival opens tonight at the Petrarca theater, featuring under-35 classical musicians in chamber performances paired with school meetings designed to build new audiences. La Nazione reported that the festival, organized by Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo, brings emerging international performers to Arezzo stages while connecting them directly with students through pre-concert school encounters.
According to La Nazione, the opening concert features cellist Ettore Pagano, the first Italian to win the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, violinist and festival director Giovanni Andrea Zanon, and pianist Gabriele Strata performing Schubert and Brahms. A second program on October 30 presents composer Silvia Colasanti’s melologue Orfeo with actor Alessandro Preziosi and the Eos Quartet directed by Enrico Pagano, a Farulli Prize winner under 35.
La Nazione reported that the November 8 closing pairs La Scala principal dancers Martina Arduino and Marco Agostino with an ensemble performing Debussy and Schumann. The newspaper noted the festival aims to position Arezzo as a meeting point for outstanding young musicians while forming new listeners through school engagement.
