A choir teacher at Bangor Middle and High School was arrested and jailed Wednesday on allegations of child sex crimes, wizmnews.com reported. The arrest followed a collaborative investigation involving the school district, the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bangor Police Department.
According to a joint statement from the investigating bodies, the allegations concern inappropriate communication between educator Paul Sadergaski and a student. Sadergaski faces two charges: Grooming of a Child for Sexual Activity and Possession of Child Pornography. The statement noted that the second charge emerged during the probe into the first but is unrelated to his position within the district or the initial case.
The district placed Sadergaski on administrative leave prior to the start of the school year. Officials emphasized that student safety remains their top priority and praised the cooperation between law enforcement and the school system. The statement also stressed the importance of protecting student privacy throughout the process while encouraging students to report unsafe interactions to trusted adults. Sadergaski is currently held without bond in the La Crosse County Jail pending a court appearance.
