The Barton Community Music School announced that enrollment is now open for the 2026‑2027 academic year, targeting youth ages 6 to 18 in surrounding communities.
According to gbtribune.com, the program pairs each young learner with a Barton music major for individualized, one‑on‑one instruction, and tuition begins at $15 for a 30‑minute lesson, with all fees returned to the college students as scholarships.
Piano instruction remains the program’s core offering, but the school also provides instrumental lessons for sixth‑grade students and older, including clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trombone, saxophone, trumpet, viola, violin, cello, guitar, bass, drums and French horn, reflecting a response to regional demand.
The initiative, launched by Dr. Alejandro Avila in 2024, is described as a mutually beneficial arrangement that supports both school‑age learners and Barton majors.
