The Bluecoats matched the highest score recorded at Allentown's J. Birney Crum Stadium during the opening night of the 2026 Drum Corps International Eastern Classic, according to DCI's event report. The Canton, Ohio, corps earned a 95.775, equaling a mark set by the Blue Devils in 2016.
The result gave the Bluecoats a 1.9-point advantage over the Boston Crusaders. DCI reported that the Bluecoats led the field in general effect, visual and music, while Boston placed first in percussion. The Cavaliers finished third among the Friday competitors.
Spirit of Atlanta also made a significant late-season move, posting an 89.375 and increasing its advantage in the contest for the final World Class finalist position. The corps finished ahead of Music City and Pacific Crest in the Allentown standings.
The Eastern Classic is one of the final major checkpoints before the DCI World Championships in Indianapolis. Results from the weekend help define competitive momentum, but corps continue refining their productions through the final performances of the season.
