The municipal government of Chihuahua City has inaugurated a new facility for the Chihuahua Music Conservatory, providing enhanced educational spaces for more than 260 students and 32 teachers. El Puntero – EL PUNTERO reported that the project, driven by Mayor Marco Bonilla, represents an investment of 45 million pesos to upgrade music education infrastructure in the region.
According to the report, the new headquarters features 32 specialized rooms designed specifically for musical instruction. These spaces include acoustic insulation, special doors, updated electrical installations, lighting, and accessibility improvements to support classroom use and ensemble rehearsals. Fernanda Bencomo, director of the Municipal Institute of Culture, stated that the building was transferred to the conservatory in January 2024 to begin adaptation and restoration work.
René Chavira, representing the mayor, noted that opening the conservatory fulfills a commitment to create better conditions for students and educators while expanding access to arts and culture. The facility is part of a broader cultural corridor connecting Lerdo Park and historic sites, aiming to strengthen the city’s cultural infrastructure so new generations can learn and develop their talents in a dedicated environment.
