College Station high school bands launch annual March-A-Thon fundraisers

Two prominent high school marching programs in the Brazos Valley are launching their annual March-A-Thon fundraisers this Saturday to support the upcoming marching season. KBTX News 3 reported that the College Station High School Cougar Band and Guard and the A&M Consolidated High School Band and Guard will take to the streets on Aug. 8 for a community-wide day of live music.

According to the report, this event serves as a critical financial resource for both student organizations. Proceeds from the fundraiser are designated directly for essential music education components, including music instruction, equipment maintenance, transportation costs, and uniforms. These resources enable the ensembles to deliver performances representing Bryan-College Station throughout the season.

KBTX News 3 indicated that community members are invited to attend the live performances to cheer on the student musicians. For those unable to attend in person, the station noted that online donation options remain available to support the students. The event marks the official kickoff for the marching season for both the Cougar Band and the Mighty Band from Tigerland, relying on local engagement to sustain their curricular and performance goals.
