Music filled Copper Hills High School as the Jordan District reported students from the local feeder system gathered for Bandstravaganza. The event aimed to introduce elementary school students to the diverse musical opportunities awaiting them in middle and high school within the district.
According to the Jordan District, participants learned about the various instruments comprising a band, while select volunteers experienced playing drums or participating in color guard activities. The gathering also served as a platform to showcase student talents across different grade levels.
The Jordan District stated that a megaband featuring more than 130 students from West Hills Middle School and Sunset Ridge Middle School performed three musical selections during the program. Additionally, Copper Hills High School presented its jazz band, marching band, and color guard to prospective future students. These performances were designed to give younger learners tangible goals to aspire to as they begin their own musical journeys within the school system.
