Joe Satriani’s legendary guitar playing has entranced fans for over four decades. The secret, of course, is his immense dedication to the instrument—but it doesn’t hurt to have the best gear in the business either. That gear now includes a signature D’Addario pick, the Satch Grip X-Heavy, which is now available to players everywhere.

Joe has partnered with D’Addario throughout his career to make innovative, top-quality gear that players love. From straps adorned with his personal artwork to collectible picks, every guitarist knows if it’s got Satch’s name on it, it’s made to perform. Now, D’Addario and Satriani have collaborated once more on a new signature pick—an exact replica of the one Joe uses on stage and in the studio.

Designed in partnership with Joe Satriani, the Satch Grip X-Heavy by D’Addario is the guitar pick Joe depends on. The new pick is made with D’Addario’s best-selling celluloid material, topped with the DuraGrip surface pattern in an Extra Heavy gauge. By combining the tactile control of anti-slip DuraGrip with the tone and durability of high-quality celluloid, this pick lets players play with Joe’s power, precision, and warmth.

“I finally have a pick that produces the right tone and is easy to hold onto under the most extreme live performance situations,” said Satriani.

D’Addario’s DuraGrip picks are made to increase control, using a firm surface and consistent pattern to provide a non-visual point of reference for players. The DuraGrip design also increases comfort by reducing pressure needed to maintain control, making it easier to play over time. By adding a DuraGrip surface atop celluloid, this pick achieves incredibly smooth tone with just the right amount of flexibility. Joe’s preferred extra heavy thickness assures peak precision for fast picking, with a clearly defined attack. The unique combination is sure to be favored by Satriani fans and beyond.
