Daniel Dorff’s Concertino for flute and orchestra will be premiered on August 11, 2018 by Jasmine Choi and the Celebration Symphony, under the direction of Christopher Confessore, at the National Flute Association’s 2018 Gala Concerto Concert.

For the thousands of flutists who attend the annual convention, the Gala Concerto Concert is the highlight of the week and eagerly anticipated all year. Dorff’s nine-minute showpiece was written specifically for Choi and is this year’s only world premiere on the convention’s exclusive program, which looks to impress an audience full of the country’s most renowned flutists.

Daniel Dorff‘s music for flute and piccolo has entered the standard repertoire and is frequently performed and recorded worldwide. Highlights from the 2017-18 season include the world premieres of Dorff’s For Elisefor flute and piano, Sonata (Spirit of the Hudson) for bass flute and piano, and Snow Angel for flute and piano.
