The 11th Let’s Make Music Course in Soria has convened 80 young musicians from conservatories across Spain for an intensive week of training. desdeSoria reported that this year’s youth edition, held at the Gaya Nuño Youth Residence from August 22 to 29, features a significant increase in participants from Soria and the Castilla y León region. The program serves violin, viola, cello, and piano students ranging from the second year of professional studies to the higher degree level.
Students engage in individual lessons, chamber music sessions, and rehearsals with two orchestras under the guidance of fifteen faculty members from leading Spanish institutions. According to desdeSoria, the curriculum includes repertoire work with pianists and a specialized double bass master class. Course director David Santacecilia emphasized the growing talent pool in Castilla y León, suggesting these musicians could soon join high-level regional and international orchestras.
The educational experience includes four free musical events open to the community. The schedule features a faculty performance of chamber works from the 18th to 20th centuries on August 25, followed by a concert of the course orchestras and chamber groups with piano on August 28. The youth edition concludes on August 29 with a dedicated student chamber music concert. These events allow the public to witness the results of the weekly instruction provided by professional educators.
