The latest eNotes bulletin, dated 7 August 2026, reports a fresh overview of developments in music teaching and curriculum matters. The Professional Practitioners of Teaching Arts (PPTA) is currently revisiting its Integrated Teaching Model (ITM) standards and drafting new guidance. In parallel, the body is assembling instructional kits aimed at ITM coordinators and is calling for volunteers to join a new working group.
Music Ecademy has opened registration for the 2026 School Championship, inviting schools nationwide to compete. The event is designed to support students as they gear up for their final examinations. Additionally, MENZA together with CATA will run a Toi Ihiihi workshop on 2 October, concentrating on the craft of building taonga puoro instruments.
Later in the month, MENZA will host a Pasifika FONO on 7 and 8 October, with the gathering scheduled to take place in Auckland.
