Fleming School has welcomed Ethan Farquhar as its sole new teacher this year, assigning him to lead the band, choir, theater program and E-sports team, the Sterling Journal-Advocate reported. Farquhar moved from Longmont to Sterling when he was in fourth grade and spent the remainder of his childhood growing up in the area. He is a graduate of Sterling High School.
According to the report, Farquhar holds an associate degree from Northeastern Junior College and is currently enrolled in an accelerated bachelor of science program in educational studies at Grand Canyon University. He noted that while he initially doubted his patience for teaching students across various age groups, the role has helped him develop that trait into a strength. The newspaper stated that Farquhar discovered he could manage high energy levels in the classroom and now enjoys observing student development in music and character.
The source indicated that Farquhar learned of the opening through a former Fleming educator immediately after learning his previous position would not continue. He expressed excitement about joining the Wildcat community and contributing to student success in music and beyond.
