Timothy Bulow, a 32‑year‑old former band teacher at Roosevelt Middle School and Twin Lakes High School, pleaded guilty to three felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the report said.
The WRTV report noted that Bulow taught at the schools from 2023 to 2025 and was arrested in April 2025 after an investigation by the Department of Child Services and local police.
According to court documents, Bulow engaged in sexual activity with a girl under 16 on multiple occasions, including at her home, his home, and the school’s band room. He allegedly picked the student up from a bus stop before school, took her to his residence for sex, and then brought her to school.
A federal lawsuit filed last year by the student’s parents alleges that Bulow had a pattern of texting female students, sharing his personal cell number, and that this behavior was widely known in the Twin Lakes community. The parents say they discovered a picture of Bulow on the girl’s computer and text messages between them.
The lawsuit also claims school officials reported the abuse to the Department of Child Services but delayed notifying the parents, allowing another incident to occur. It further accuses the district of leaving students unsupervised for about an hour each morning, describing a series of institutional failures that enabled the abuse.
