Furtados and Corvuss launch residential high school program for serious music students

Furtados School of Music reported the launch of an exclusive international residential high school program designed for students in grades eight through twelve who are committed to pursuing music with professional ambition. Developed in partnership with Corvuss American Academy, this initiative challenges the conventional model where artistic excellence is treated merely as an extracurricular activity, instead placing music specialization at the center of daily academic life.

According to Furtados School of Music, the curriculum combines a WASC-accredited American high school education with College Board Advanced Placement courses and immersive musical training. Students engage in rigorous instruction covering performance, musicianship, theory, composition, and ensemble practice. The program prepares learners for the AP Music Theory examination alongside internationally recognized practical exams from Trinity College London and ABRSM.

Furtados School of Music stated that the selective cohort receives individual mentorship and curated performance opportunities to build professional portfolios required by leading universities and conservatories globally. By integrating artistic development with academic credentials, the collaboration aims to cultivate talent with intention, offering an environment where excellence is expected rather than exceptional for young musicians ready to dedicate themselves to their craft.
