Fountain Valley School District will join schools nationwide to celebrate National Arts in Education Week from September 13 to 18, 2026, according to information reported by Courreges (Roch) Elementary.
The district said artistic expression is an essential component of a well-rounded education, and that through music, visual art, theater and movement, FVSD students develop critical thinking, self-confidence, collaboration and creative problem-solving skills that serve them beyond the classroom.
At the elementary level, elementary music teachers and VAPA itinerant teachers introduce young learners to foundational rhythm, melody, movement and visual arts, the school reported. As students transition to middle school, opportunities expand through dedicated band and orchestra directors who instill discipline and teamwork, middle school choir directors who guide vocalists in harmony, and middle school drama teachers who empower students to find their voice, build empathy and shine on stage.
The district credited its extraordinary arts educators across the district for making this dynamic learning experience possible, according to the report.
