Musicians are invited to play along with John Patitucci and Bob Franceschini in their bid to win one of the contest’s three prizes.

Gruv Gear’s latest Gruv Challenge invites musicians to record themselves playing along with jazz legends John Patitucci and Bob Franceschini. Participants of this Jazz Edition of the Gruv Challenge can win the artist’s signature Gruv gear products or a $50 Gruv Gear gift card. Plus they will be featured on Gruv Gear’s social media.

John Patitucci is at the forefront of the jazz world, receiving three Grammys and numerous nominations for his bass playing. Performing with many amazing artists including, Chick Corea, Alicia Keys and Dizzy Gillespie, Patitucci has inspired generations of bassists with his versatility and unwavering fondness for genuine grooves.

Accomplished saxophonist, Bob Franceschini has appeared on more than two hundred albums for artists such as Paul Simon, Celine Dion and Mike Stern whose last five were Granny nominated. He has also worked with artists such as George Benson, Eddie Palmieri, Kenny Kirkland, Randy Brecker, Chaka Khan and Jennifer Lopez. His first heavy touring and recording experience was with The Tom Browne Band

To enter, download the original video with Patitucci on bass and Franceschini on saxophone. Make a 3-part split screen recording, playing any instrument along to the video. Entrants should then post their recording to their personal Instagram page with the hashtag #gruvchallenge and tag three friends.

The entry deadline is Monday, February 15, 2021 at 11.59pm PT. Three winners will be chosen and announced on the @gruvgear Instagram page on Friday, February 19, 2021. Full terms and conditions can be found here.

There are three prizes up for grabs, Gruv Gear’s John Patitucci Signature bass / guitar strap, Bob Franceschini Signature saxophone strap and a $50 gift card.
