Gurugram event nurtures young Indian classical musicians

An initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of Indian classical musicians brought students and a distinguished guest artist together in Gurugram for an evening of performance and cultural continuity, Passionate In Marketing reported.

Ati Mandra — Music Beyond Entertainment presented “Shubho Bijoya,” an event that grew from an intimate home gathering hosted by sitarist and music educator Shubhrodeep Pathak two years ago into a full auditorium programme. The initiative sought to reaffirm music as a lifelong discipline and living expression of India’s cultural heritage, according to the report.

Student performances anchored the evening, offering young learners opportunities to share their musical journeys and affirming values that classical music cultivates, including patience, discipline, attentive listening and perseverance. The programme was followed by a santoor recital by guest artist Pandit Bipul Kumar Rai.

Ati Mandra expressed concern that social media’s emphasis on visibility and instant recognition can overshadow the years of study and introspection that meaningful artistic practice demands. The initiative aims to encourage young people to discover music as a serious pursuit and a source of personal growth, while creating spaces where the Guru-Shishya tradition and the joy of learning can continue to flourish.
