The Herbie Hancock Institute International Jazz Competition will feature jazz vocals in Paris on October 10-11, 2026. The competition is open to musicians under the age of 30 and will award over $100,000 in scholarships and prizes.
Adistinguished jury led by Dee Dee Bridgewater will select the winners from among the applicants. Past winners include Jazzmeia Horn, Jane Monheit, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Gretchen Parlato, and Veronica Swift.
The competition has helped launch the careers of many notable jazz artists, including Joshua Redman, Melissa Aldana, Kris Bowers, Ben Williams, and Ambrose Akinmusire. The program will also include special masterclasses at the Fondation, offering jazz education opportunities for local organizations and students.
