The Alton Telegraph reported that current and former high school students will perform at the inaugural Flannel Fest, a free community music event scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at Schon Park in Glen Carbon. The lineup features Lost Oaks, an indie rock group composed of high school students and one recent graduate, alongside Revival, a tribute band featuring a Collinsville High School senior.
According to the report, Lost Oaks includes Edwardsville High School senior Ollie Brown, who serves as vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Brown stated that while the ensemble has begun writing original material, they will perform cover songs at this event. The band also includes bassist Nicholas Korte, drummer Corbin Siron and lead guitarist Robert Barton. Lost Oaks is set to kick off the night.
Revival, a Zach Bryan tribute act, features 17-year-old Rainn Hoelting, a senior at Collinsville High School. The Alton Telegraph noted that Hoelting previously performed on stage with Bryan in Tulsa after being selected from the audience. His father, Ryan Hoelting, explained that the student musician’s deep engagement with Bryan’s catalog inspired the formation of the tribute project. Both groups aim to provide local entertainment while highlighting musical talents developing within area schools.
