Ho Chi Minh city conservatory undergoes external quality evaluation

The Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music launched an official external quality evaluation survey on September 17, conducted by the Educational Quality Accreditation Center of the University of Da Nang. Vietnam.vn reported that the nine-member evaluation team, led by Professor Bui Van Ga, initiated the five-day process to assess the institution’s educational standards.

During the opening ceremony, evaluators acknowledged the conservatory’s 70-year history of training renowned artists but noted challenges regarding autonomy, funding, and adapting training activities to rapid scientific changes. Professor Ga emphasized that artificial intelligence now possesses the capacity to compose music and create stage products, presenting new hurdles for institutions. He stated the delegation did not visit with the intention of merely measuring whether the school met standards, but rather to collaborate and advise on identifying areas needing adjustment.

Conservatory Director Do Quoc Hung stated that ensuring and improving quality is a responsibility toward students, families, and society. He noted the recent self-evaluation process allowed the institution to systematically review achievements and identify deficiencies. The school pledged full transparency and cooperation, providing complete documentation to help experts offer practical recommendations for improving future music training programs. The survey is scheduled to conclude on September 21.
