If You can Sing it, You can Play it!

I am a firm believer that if you can sing it, you can play it.  Even though all my classes are instrumental classes, I ask my students to sing regularly.  Singing helps students develop pitch discrimination, improve intonation, and can even be used to solidify difficult rhythms.  You might encounter some initial resistance, but if you make it part of the regular routine, students will be singing and playing better every day!
