Ithaca College reported that students from its School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will perform at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Friday, November 13. The concert, titled “Legacy in Sound: Featuring the Next Generation of Music Educators and Performers,” brings premier campus ensembles to New York City ahead of the 2026 Cortaca Jug game against SUNY Cortland.
The performance features the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Choir under the direction of faculty leaders Daniel Cook, Mike Titlebaum, Ho-Yin Kwok, and Khyle Wooten. Program highlights include a commissioned work by professor emeritus Dana Wilson, Adolphus Hailstork’s “Shout for Joy,” and the final movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. These selections demonstrate the rigorous training provided to students pursuing careers as teachers, scholars, and creative professionals.
Dean Steve TenEyck stated that ambitious artistic experiences at venues like Alice Tully Hall challenge students to grow as collaborators and future leaders. He noted that such performances become foundational for those preparing specifically for careers in music education who will serve classrooms and communities throughout their lives. The event is supported by donations from alumni Charles Hack and John Neeson, sustaining a tradition of transformative performance opportunities for the college’s next generation of musicians and educators.
