Secretary of State for Education Abelardo de la Rosa delivered the inaugural lecture at the event, which was also attended by Government subdelegate Manuel Fernández and Jaén mayor Julio Millán, according to the report.
Millán highlighted the conservatory’s importance for allowing young people from Jaén to pursue advanced musical studies without leaving their hometown while attracting students from other regions each year, andaluciainformacion.es reported. The mayor acknowledged the effort of students and faculty, noting that higher musical education demands years of dedication, discipline and perseverance.
The inauguration showcased the conservatory’s new headquarters, described as the result of years of collaboration between administrations. Millán advocated strengthening the center’s connection to the city through concerts and cultural activities, pointing to a collaboration agreement with the City Council that supports joint initiatives and facilitates student internships, the outlet reported.
