Jamestown High School marching band leads Homecoming parade downtown

The Jamestown High School Marching Band will lead a downtown parade Oct. 15 as part of the school’s homecoming celebration, giving the ensemble a prominent community-facing performance opportunity.

The Post Journal reported that homecoming activities run Oct. 13-17, with the parade beginning at 6 p.m. at Farm Fresh Foods and traveling along Third Street past City Hall to the high school. The marching band will lead the procession, and community members are encouraged to line the route and cheer on students.

A pep rally for JHS students and staff will follow at the high school. The homecoming football game against Erie High School is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Strider Field, where the Homecoming Court will be recognized and the king and queen crowned. Court members include Layla Amatuzzo, Olivia Anderson, Charlotte Baehr, Macy Bailey, Lillian Stormont, Braiden Kennedy, Jason Leenders, Christopher Melquist, Kamryn Monroe and Joshua Piazza.

Students are also observing Spirit Week with themed days, including Green Shirt Day honoring late teacher and coach Tony Dolce. Additional homecoming events include cross country, volleyball, boys soccer and girls soccer competitions.
