CHS Assistant Marching Band Director

Reports to: Principal / Athletic Director / Band Director

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Must pass fingerprinting/background check that meets required state, federal and Clarkston School District standards

• Must hold a current and valid First Aid and CPR card, OR be able to obtain them PRIOR to working with athletes

• Must be at least 19 years of age for Assistant Coaching Positions and at least 21 years of age for Head Coaching Positions pursuant to WIAA regulations

• Must complete WIAA required training

• Must complete onboarding paperwork and SafeSchools training PRIOR to working with athletes

• Be available for all practices and competitions from 3 p.m. daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required

• Prior coaching experience preferred

General Functions:

• Supports the High School in all of its music programs and demonstrates commitment to strengthening relations within the educational system, as well as the coaching profession

• Demonstrates loyalty and supports the band director in all capacities of marching and performing

• Knowledgeable and aware of rules and regulations concerning his/her activity

• Assumes any duties assigned to him/her by the band director pertaining to the marching band

• Assists and is accountable to the band director, athletic director and principal

• Holds a current first aid and CPR card
