Position:  Marching Band Assistant(s): Battery Instructor/Front Ensemble Instructor/Audio Engineer/Visual Instructor

Location:   Council Rock High School South

Available:   2026/2027 School Year

Requirements:

The Council Rock South Marching Band is looking for experienced Marching Percussion instructors, Pit Instructors, Audio Engineer, and Visual Instructor preferably with a Low Brass or Woodwind Specialty, to add to our team of exceptional marching music educators.

DCI/DCA/WGI experience preferred. We are looking for candidates with some of the following skill sets:

• A comprehensive approach to modern front ensemble technique

• Strategies to improve ensemble timing in the marching arts

• Understanding of the responsibilities of each section of the front ensemble or battery choir

• Knowledge or experience with contemporary outdoor field PA systems

• Knowledge or experience with microphone arrays used in the marching arts

• Knowledge or experience with modern digital mixers

• Knowledge or experience with wireless frequency considerations in the marching arts

• There may be writing or caption manager opportunities for the right candidates

• Ability to extend service into the Indoor Drumline season is very helpful

Important Dates:

Band Camp: August 10-14 and August 17-21 and 24th

Weekly Rehearsals: Sectionals Mon 3-5:30, Ens. Wed & Thurs 3-5:30 (hoping to move either Wednesday or Thursday to evenings depending on availability of lighting)

Football Games: Friday Evenings

Saturdays: Saturday rehearsals and competitions starting mid-September

REQUIRED PAPERWORK: In order to begin employment in any PA public school, all employees are required to complete mandatory paperwork.  Background clearances must be completed within the last year and include:

• PA State Police Clearance (Act 34)

• Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)

• FBI Fingerprints (Act 114)

Some additional paperwork includes Arrest/Conviction Report form, PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclousure (Act 168), submitted physician's health form (less than 1 year) and recently completed TB test.
