Junior School Teacher of Music

SPGS International School (Singapore)

Singapore · Full Time · Music Education

Join the founding team of one of Singapore's most exciting new international schools.

SPGS International School (Singapore) is a new co-educational British international school opening in 2027, bringing together the educational philosophy and heritage of St Paul's Girls' School, London with a forward-looking vision for international education.

We are seeking an exceptional Junior School Teacher of Music who believes that musical excellence grows naturally from curiosity, creativity, confidence and a genuine joy in making music. This is an opportunity to help shape a school from its very first day: establishing traditions, building a vibrant musical culture and creating an outstanding educational experience for every child.

Music has a particularly rich heritage at St Paul's Girls' School, London. Gustav Holst served as Director of Music at the school for nearly three decades, composing works for its pupils and helping to establish a tradition in which ambitious music-making, creativity and participation have an important place in school life. At SPGS International School (Singapore), we have the opportunity to build on that heritage and create a musical culture of our own from the very beginning.

Our Junior School offers an enhanced English National Curriculum enriched through specialist teaching, creative exploration, languages and a broad co-curricular programme. We are looking for a Music teacher who combines excellent teaching practice and strong musicianship with warmth, creativity and high expectations, and who understands that children flourish musically when they are encouraged to perform, create, collaborate and discover the joy of music for themselves.

As a founding member of staff, you will play a significant role beyond your own teaching. You will work alongside ambitious, collaborative colleagues to develop the Music curriculum, contribute to our co-curricular and performance programme, shape school culture and help establish the systems and traditions that will define the school for years to come.

In return, we offer:

• A competitive international salary and benefits package

• Outstanding professional development and career progression opportunities

• A close partnership with St Paul's Girls' School, London

• Exceptional purpose-built facilities

• The opportunity to live and work in one of the world's safest, most dynamic and internationally connected cities

• The rare chance to help create an exceptional school from the very beginning

If you are an outstanding Music teacher who combines excellent practice and musicianship with warmth, values collaboration, and is excited by the opportunity to build something exceptional, we would be delighted to hear from you.
