About the Role

As an Early Years and Primary Performing Arts Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive music lessons alongside opportunities for children to develop their skills in drama and dance. You will create memorable learning experiences that encourage children to be creative, confident and courageous performers.

You will work collaboratively with class teachers, Assistant Teachers and the wider Primary team to ensure that Performing Arts contributes meaningfully to the wider curriculum and to the life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering high-quality Music lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum expectations.

• Using drama and dance to supplement and enrich the curriculum, providing children with opportunities to explore movement, character, storytelling and performance.

• Developing innovative, engaging and creative lessons that inspire children of different ages, abilities and levels of experience.

• Supporting students to develop confidence, self-expression, communication and collaboration skills through Performing Arts.

• Creating an inclusive environment where every child feels able to participate, perform and take creative risks.

• Working effectively with SEND and EAL students, ensuring appropriate strategies and adaptations are in place to enable all students to access learning and participate successfully.

• Working alongside Assistant Teachers to support positive behavior, engagement and learning during Performing Arts lessons.

• Collaborating with class teachers to support curriculum learning through music, drama and dance.

• Supporting teachers with class and phase performances, including rehearsals, choreography, musical direction and other aspects of production as appropriate.

• Supporting the KS2 and KS3 school performances, working as directed by the Show Producer and contributing to rehearsals and production requirements.

• Contributing positively to the wider life of the school through performances, events, assemblies and other co-curricular opportunities.

• Engaging actively with relevant professional development, training and courses as identified or recommended by your line manager.

• Building positive relationships with students, colleagues and families and contributing to a collaborative and supportive school culture.

• Holds a recognised teaching qualification and relevant degree.

• Has a strong pedagogical understanding of how young children develop musical, dramatic and physical performance skills.

• Can deliver engaging Music lessons in line with English National Curriculum expectations.

• Is creative, energetic and enthusiastic about using Performing Arts to enrich children's learning.

• Builds strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

• Is reflective, innovative, and committed to continual professional growth.

• Is enthusiastic about working within a multicultural context and embracing global-minded education.

• A competitive salary starting at 2022 JOD per month subject to social security and tax deductions per Jordanian Law (Overseas packages include additional benefits)
