The Corsham School Academy Group seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and inspirational teacher of Music, looking to join an experienced team. The team is led by a curriculum team leader. The successful candidate will be a dynamic practitioner who models excellent practice, has students’ progress at the forefront of their teaching, will deliver high quality learning experiences for all students and have a willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to join our wonderful school and make a significant contribution.

The ideal candidate will:

• be an inspirational and passionate music teacher

• be a professional who is able to work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders

• be passionate about raising attainment in a classroom environment with students of all abilities

• be able to show evidence of continually improving the teaching and learning of their subject through

schemes of work and extra-curricular activities

The Music department

We offer Music at GCSE and A level with strong take-up at A level. We enjoy a close relationship with Real World Studios, the Pound Arts centre and WOMAD with learners opening WOMAD festival as part of an ensemble. We enjoy a successful partnership with the Drama department and as a result put on an annual whole-school show featuring full orchestration and choir. Students celebrate our student’s musical enjoyment and development in school celebration assemblies. Music enjoys a high profile in the school, with students playing in assemblies to their peers and busking around the school on open evenings. The department has undergone something of a renaissance in recent years and we are looking forward to a new team member helping to continue this transformation.

The School

The Corsham School is part of a small Multi Academy Trust serving the market town of Corsham and surrounding villages. It is situated in North Wiltshire, on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, 8 miles from Bath and within easy reach of the M4.
