We are seeking an outstanding Visiting Music Teacher of Double Bass to join our vibrant and successful Music Department at Caterham School.

The successful candidate will teach double bass to pupils in the Senior School from Years 7 to 13, and in the Prep School from Years 4 to 6, working with pupils of all abilities from beginners to advanced performers. They will develop pupils’ instrumental technique, musicianship and confidence. They will also prepare pupils for ABRSM/Trinity examinations and GCSE and A Level performance components.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced double bass teacher with outstanding performing ability and expertise across a range of styles, from classical to jazz. Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills, together with a passion for inspiring young musicians, are essential.

This is a self-employed role, initially offering approximately half a day of teaching per week, with scope for the role to grow. There would also be the opportunity to work in the Prep School in delivering our instrumental programme, which introduces pupils to all string instruments.
