Apply through the verified listingWe are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and ambitious Teacher of Music to join our successful school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to combine excellent classroom practice with a TLR 2A leadership responsibility for performing arts, encompassing drama and dance. Our school is a Lead School for music in the West Yorkshire area, with both GCSE music cohort numbers and outcomes well above national averages. We have a suite of five practice rooms and host six visiting instrumental teachers from Wakefield Music Services.
Teaching music across Key Stages 3 and 4, while assisting the Team Leader for Performing Arts in driving the development of performing arts, you will promote high standards of teaching and learning, increase student participation and coordinate a vibrant programme of performances, productions and enrichment activities.
We are looking for someone who:
• is an excellent Teacher of Music with strong subject knowledge and a high level of practical skill on an instrument or voice.
• has proficient keyboard skills (the ability to accompany GCSE performance exams is highly desirable).
• can inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
• has the vision and enthusiasm to assist in the leadership and development of performing arts across music, drama and dance.
• is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for young people.
• works effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
