Job Title:  Music Teacher/Instructor

Location:  Lamledge School, Shifnal, TF11 8SD

Salary:  Up to £26,000.00 per annum (depending on qualifications, not pro rata)

Hours:  40 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Contract:  Fixed Term (Maternity Cover) | Term Time Only

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Music Teacher/Instructor to join our specialist education team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire pupils through music, media and creative expression while helping them achieve meaningful academic, personal and emotional progress.

Music can play a transformative role in a pupil's educational journey, and you will create engaging learning experiences that build confidence, develop self-expression and nurture individual talents. Alongside delivering high-quality music education, you will help develop and establish a modern music learning environment, including a state-of-the-art recording studio and music classroom, providing opportunities to explore performance, production, recording and media-based pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Music and Media lessons that inspire creativity, confidence and achievement.

• Support the development and establishment of a high-quality music classroom and recording studio provision.

• Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes that reflect individual needs, interests and aspirations.

• Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral support and promoting positive engagement in education.

• Teach and embed life skills that help pupils develop independence, confidence and readiness for adulthood.

• Work closely with therapists, families and external agencies to create learning opportunities that meet individual needs.

• Adapt teaching approaches, classroom strategies and resources to support a wide range of learning profiles and additional needs.

• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, using information effectively to inform planning and celebrate achievement.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a passionate educator who combines musical expertise with a commitment to helping pupils succeed. You will be able to build positive relationships, motivate learners who may have experienced barriers to education, and create engaging learning experiences that enable every pupil to reach their potential.

Whether your background is in teaching, music instruction, music production, recording technology or creative media, you will bring energy, flexibility and a genuine belief in the power of education to transform lives.

Essential requirements:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent) or relevant music teaching/instruction certification.

• Experience teaching Music and/or Creative Media.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet a diverse range of learning needs.

• A commitment to creating an inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environment.

• Confidence in using music technology, recording equipment and industry-standard software is desirable.

This role would suit both qualified teachers and experienced music professionals with relevant instructional qualifications and a passion for inspiring learners through music.
