Position Summary
Under the direction of the division Coordinator, the Theatre Specialist supports, leads, and delivers high-quality community programs, special events, and daily facility operations across the division. Positioned as an entry-to-mid-level role ideal for high school graduates starting a career or college graduates applying foundational knowledge, this position provides hands-on operational leadership wherever assigned. The specialist focuses on active program execution, participant engagement, safety oversight, and smooth daily service delivery, adapting seamlessly to changing operational schedules and community priorities.
Core Responsibilities
• Program & Event Execution: Facilitate day-to-day activities, structured schedules, and community events; set up and break down necessary equipment, materials, and spaces.
• Participant & Public Engagement: Greet visitors, answer general inquiries, and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for community members of all ages and abilities.
• Operational Adaptability: Transition smoothly between different program areas, facilities, and functional teams based on seasonal demand, scheduling, and real-time operational needs.
• Safety & Operations: Enforce program rules, conduct routine safety sweeps, maintain equipment inventory, and handle standard emergency and risk management procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside staff, volunteers, and leadership to keep operations running on time, address real-time challenges, and uphold high service standards.
Qualifications & Competencies
• Education: Current enrollment in High School (minimum age 16+), High School Diploma/GED, or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in a recreation related field preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in program facilitation, customer service, leadership roles, or event support is strongly preferred.
• Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain
• Key Skills: Strong communication, positive leadership, adaptability, time management, and basic computer proficiency for software and registration systems.
