Apply through the verified listingNatick, Massachusetts, Walnut Hill School for the Arts is seeking an immediate Music Director to work with the Director on all musical aspects of the School’s production of Peter and the Starcatcher, part of the School’s Walnut Hill in Boston series. The production will take place at the Virginia Wimberly Theatre at The Calderwood Pavilion in Boston. Rehearsals will take place at Walnut Hill in Natick, MA, with tech week beginning November 1 in Boston.
Compensation: $2,700 for the production paid through W-2
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include music directing the production, attending applicable rehearsals and tech week, playing during the show, and working collaboratively with all students and creative staff for the duration of the production.
The successful candidate must be a competent pianist, music director, and vocal coach and have a well-rounded knowledge of musical theater repertoire. They must also have strong communication and organizational skills, work effectively with professionals, and be passionate about working with high school students in a fast-paced pre-professional school environment. Background checks are required.
Standard Rehearsal Schedule at Walnut Hill in Natick:
Monday – Thursday: 7:00 -10:00 PM
Friday: 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Saturday: 10:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Specific Needs for This Production:
September 21–October 23: 1–3 days per week
Saturday, October 24: 10:30 AM–5:30 PM
Week of October 26: Ideally present at every rehearsal.
No rehearsal Saturday, October 31.
Week of November 1: Tech week begins.
Monday, November 2: Rehearsals move to Boston. Evening rehearsal.
Tuesday, November 3–Friday, November 6: 1:00 PM–10:00 PM
Performances:
Friday, November 6 at 8:00 PM
Saturday, November 7 at 8:00 PM
Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 PM
