Job overview

Job Type: Full time, permanent rolling contract

Location: Olbia, Sardinia, Italy

Start Date: January 2027 (an earlier start date possible by negotiation)

About the role:

We are seeking a Teacher of Music to join our teaching staff, to work under the departmental leadership of Miss Elisabetta Catgiu, our Head of Creative and Performing Arts.

The role involves the teaching of Music within both Primary and Secondary Divisions. In addition, there will be opportunities to work with students on an instrumental and choral level. Last year, the School developed two whole-school shows; and plans are more ambitious for this year's programming.

The scope of the role can be tailored to the skills and interests of the candidate.

The role will also include a broad opportunity to develop our school-wide Music and Creative Arts experience and culture; there is much potential to develop extra-curricular activities and clubs, masterclasses, and specialist opportunities both directly and adjacently related to Music.

The school is well-equipped with teaching equipment at present (specialist Music/Performance equipment, state-of-the-art digital whiteboards, class sets of laptops and tablets, ThinkPads for each staff member). In addition, the appointed candidate will find the staff body very experienced, enthusiastic to co-create a unique educational environment in Sardinia, and both friendly and helpful in the Common Room.

Candidate qualifications:

• A Masters' or Bachelors' degree in Mathematics or related industry training

• Teaching experience in a formal educational environment

• Existing right to work in Italy (or European Union).

Benefits:

• Competitive salary, reflecting skills and experience

• Permanent, rolling contract

• School accommodation, if required

• Lunches on school days

• Yearly bonus and corporate welfare allowance

• Priority doctor care and generous sick leave policy

How to apply:

Opportunity and Market

Olbia, Sassari, Italy has 1 linked active ArtistPro listing. National population supplies scale, but it does not establish city-level demand. [1]

Career Outlook

The national unemployment indicator provides broad context only. Occupation- and city-specific demand was unavailable from a validated jurisdictional dataset, so Career Opportunity and Career Safety scores are omitted. [3]

Compensation

GDP per capita is included solely as national economic context. It is not a salary-equivalency or purchasing-power calculation, and the listing’s currency, taxes, pension and contract terms must be verified. [2]

Housing and Cost of Living

Validated city-level housing and rent data were unavailable in this automated run. Candidates should use official or regulated local housing sources and avoid treating national economic indicators as rent estimates.

Commute

Validated city-level commute and transportation-cost data were unavailable. Confirm the exact worksite, transit availability and commuting rules with the employer before relocating.

Community Snapshot

Italy national population and economic indicators provide country context; they do not support neighborhood-level claims about safety, culture or community fit. [1] [2]

Local Economy

The national unemployment and GDP-per-capita indicators describe the broader economy, not the city or employer. [3] [2]

Relocation Considerations

Work authorization, healthcare eligibility and tax obligations are jurisdiction-specific and can determine whether the role is viable. Use the official linked resources and confirm sponsorship directly with the employer. [4] [5] [6]

What I Wish I'd Known Before Taking the Job

A job offer does not itself prove visa eligibility, sponsorship, healthcare access or net take-home pay. Confirm all four before paying relocation costs. [4] [5] [6]

Methodology

This report uses World Bank national indicators and official jurisdictional resources. City-level figures and scores are omitted where authoritative data were not acquired.
