Do you have a passion for acting and drama, and the creativity to bring performance to life in the classroom? Join our thriving Performing Arts team at Exeter College and help aspiring performers develop their talent, confidence and ambition.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and talented Acting and Drama practitioner to deliver inspiring teaching across our full-time Performing Arts programmes, including A Level Drama and Theatre Studies and UAL Level 3 Acting and Musical Theatre qualifications.

You’ll bring your subject expertise to life through engaging practical and theoretical sessions, helping students develop their performance skills, creativity, rehearsal discipline and reflective practice. With a strong understanding of acting methodologies, theatre-making and the wider performing arts industry, you’ll prepare students to take their next steps into higher education, drama school or careers in the creative sector.

From exploring dramatic texts and influential practitioners to devising original work and evaluating live theatre, you’ll deliver a varied and stimulating curriculum that challenges students to experiment, collaborate and excel. You’ll also have opportunities to get involved in productions, showcases, auditions, trips, recruitment events and the wider enrichment activities that make Performing Arts such an exciting area to work in.

We’d love to hear from practitioners with experience of teaching or facilitating acting and performance in educational, community or professional settings, who are passionate about helping young people realise their potential. A teaching qualification is desirable, but it’s not essential – if you bring the right industry experience and enthusiasm, we’ll welcome your application and support you to work towards an appropriate Further Education teaching qualification.

Bring your creativity, share your experience and help our students take centre stage.

Ambition, Collaboration, Energy.  These are our values.  Watch this short video to learn more.

Opportunity and Market

Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom has 1 linked active ArtistPro listing. National population supplies scale, but it does not establish city-level demand. [1]

Career Outlook

The national unemployment indicator provides broad context only. Occupation- and city-specific demand was unavailable from a validated jurisdictional dataset, so Career Opportunity and Career Safety scores are omitted. [3]

Compensation

GDP per capita is included solely as national economic context. It is not a salary-equivalency or purchasing-power calculation, and the listing’s currency, taxes, pension and contract terms must be verified. [2]

Housing and Cost of Living

Validated city-level housing and rent data were unavailable in this automated run. Candidates should use official or regulated local housing sources and avoid treating national economic indicators as rent estimates.

Commute

Validated city-level commute and transportation-cost data were unavailable. Confirm the exact worksite, transit availability and commuting rules with the employer before relocating.

Community Snapshot

United Kingdom national population and economic indicators provide country context; they do not support neighborhood-level claims about safety, culture or community fit. [1] [2]

Local Economy

The national unemployment and GDP-per-capita indicators describe the broader economy, not the city or employer. [3] [2]

Relocation Considerations

Work authorization, healthcare eligibility and tax obligations are jurisdiction-specific and can determine whether the role is viable. Use the official linked resources and confirm sponsorship directly with the employer. [4] [5] [6]

What I Wish I'd Known Before Taking the Job

A job offer does not itself prove visa eligibility, sponsorship, healthcare access or net take-home pay. Confirm all four before paying relocation costs. [4] [5] [6]

Methodology

This report uses World Bank national indicators and official jurisdictional resources. City-level figures and scores are omitted where authoritative data were not acquired.
