The successful candidate will join a large, talented and vibrant group of colleagues. The Visiting Music Teacher (Violin) is immediately line managed by the Head of Strings under the overall guidance of the Deputy Director of Music who is responsible for the day-to-day running of co-curricular music.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover appointment. The appointment is offered for a minimum initial period of three months from the start date.

The postholder will provide one-to-one violin tuition during Winchester College term time. It is currently anticipated that the postholder will teach 11 pupils across two afternoons each week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The College cannot guarantee that the same level or pattern of teaching will continue throughout any extended period. Within the agreed Tuesday and Thursday afternoon teaching sessions, the Visiting Music Teacher will arrange their working hours in consultation with the Head of Strings, Director of Music or their deputies.

Work authorization, healthcare eligibility and tax obligations are jurisdiction-specific and can determine whether the role is viable. Use the official linked resources and confirm sponsorship directly with the employer. [4] [5] [6]

What I Wish I'd Known Before Taking the Job

A job offer does not itself prove visa eligibility, sponsorship, healthcare access or net take-home pay. Confirm all four before paying relocation costs. [4] [5] [6]
