Performing Arts Teacher - August 2027 - Rugby School Dubai

Rugby School Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates · Full Time · Music Education

Apply through the verified listing

Rugby School Dubai is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Performing Arts to join our thriving school.

We opened our doors in August 2026 as the next chapter in Rugby School’s 450-year legacy, where British heritage meets the UAE’s forward-looking ambition. Guided by our ethos, The Whole Person is The Whole Point, we pair academic depth with pastoral strength, so that pupils grow in scholarship and in character. Through rigorous academics, sport, performing arts and music, leadership, service and House life, every experience helps each child find their voice, broaden their horizons and lead with purpose. This is more than a school: it is a community where character leads achievement and tradition inspires tomorrow. The school welcomes pupils from FS1 to Year 13 and is located in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai. We are proud to be part of the Aldar Education group.

The Post

We are looking for an exceptional, qualified teacher to teach Performing Arts from Year 7 to Year 13, including GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching in a British curriculum school, put pupils at the heart of their teaching, and be keen to contribute fully to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school.

Full details of the role and the person specification can be found in the attached Applicant Information Pack.

We aim to attract and retain staff of the highest quality, primarily because the school is a fulfilling and enjoyable environment in which to work. We provide professional development opportunities to match the needs and aspirations of each individual member of staff, and to make sure that our pupils are taught by motivated teachers who are fully up to date with their teaching methods and approaches.

How to apply

The start date for this position is August 2027. Early applications are encouraged, as we may interview on receipt of applications and close the vacancy early. Before applying, please download the Applicant Information Pack, which contains full details of the role, the person specification and what we offer.

To apply, please complete the Schrole Connect form and upload it with your CV and a covering letter. Shortlisted candidates based in the UAE will be invited to the school for an interview and further assessment, including teaching a lesson. Overseas candidates may be asked to provide a video of their teaching.

Safeguarding

Rugby School Dubai is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We follow safer recruitment practices in line with UK best practice and the requirements of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

All appointments are subject to pre-employment checks. These include satisfactory references, one of which must be from the candidate’s current or most recent employer, and police clearance certificates from the candidate’s country of residence and any countries in which they have lived or worked. We also verify identity, qualifications and the right to work in the UAE, and explore any gaps in employment history at interview. All appointments are subject to the relevant UAE regulatory approvals.

United Arab Emirates Location Report

By SBO+ Staff · Effective 2026-08-20

View this location on OpenStreetMap →

Opportunity and Market

United Arab Emirates has 3 linked active ArtistPro listings. National population supplies scale, but it does not establish city-level demand. [1]

Career Outlook

The national unemployment indicator provides broad context only. Occupation- and city-specific demand was unavailable from a validated jurisdictional dataset, so Career Opportunity and Career Safety scores are omitted. [3]

Compensation

GDP per capita is included solely as national economic context. It is not a salary-equivalency or purchasing-power calculation, and the listing’s currency, taxes, pension and contract terms must be verified. [2]

Housing and Cost of Living

Validated city-level housing and rent data were unavailable in this automated run. Candidates should use official or regulated local housing sources and avoid treating national economic indicators as rent estimates.

Commute

Validated city-level commute and transportation-cost data were unavailable. Confirm the exact worksite, transit availability and commuting rules with the employer before relocating.

Community Snapshot

United Arab Emirates national population and economic indicators provide country context; they do not support neighborhood-level claims about safety, culture or community fit. [1] [2]

Local Economy

The national unemployment and GDP-per-capita indicators describe the broader economy, not the city or employer. [3] [2]

Relocation Considerations

Work authorization, healthcare eligibility and tax obligations are jurisdiction-specific and can determine whether the role is viable. Use the official linked resources and confirm sponsorship directly with the employer. [4] [5] [6]

What I Wish I'd Known Before Taking the Job

A job offer does not itself prove visa eligibility, sponsorship, healthcare access or net take-home pay. Confirm all four before paying relocation costs. [4] [5] [6]

Methodology

This report uses World Bank national indicators and official jurisdictional resources. City-level figures and scores are omitted where authoritative data were not acquired.
