To work and assist the Victoria Fine Arts Center Manager or VISD Representative on duty with ongoing events, rentals and school functions as well as daily upkeep and maintenance of the VISD Fine Arts Center.
Qualification Guidelines:
Education/Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Some experience working with theatrical productions preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all contacts
Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures
Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building/grounds maintenance
Ability to use various size ladders
Ability to use two-wheel and four-wheel dollies and various size carts
Ability to stack chairs, set up platform and choir risers
Ability to properly handle various types of cleaning equipment
Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Physical ability to perform duties (Lifting up to 40 pounds required)
Professional appearance and demeanor
Proficient customer service skills
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist in the supervision of and the loading and unloading of scenery and stage equipment as required by incoming vendors, clients, campuses, departments or performing companies.
Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands:
Tools/Equipment Used: : Computer, Audiovisual Equipment, Hand & Power Tools, Cleaning Equipment.
Posture: Occasional sitting; frequent bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, some keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent reaching
Lifting: Must be able to frequently lift and carry large items (not to exceed 40 lbs.)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; some districtwide travel; exposed to environmental conditions including heat and cold, dust, dirt, and extreme noise.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; communicate effectively and professionally at all times.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Responsible for setting the stage with orchestra shell, chairs, music stands, drapes or other equipment.
2. Responsible for assisting with technical operations such as lights, sound, and rigging.
3. Responsible for sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning and maintaining the appearance of the building.
4. Responsible for setup, maintenance and striking of entertainment related elements including staging, video, sound and lighting components.
5. Responsible for assisting with the loading and unloading of equipment from trucks.
6. Responsible for disassembling staging elements, ensuring their proper storage.
7. Responsible for opening and closing curtains.

9. Responsible for working concession stand.
10. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
11. Participate in any VFAC meetings and special events as assigned.
