VISTING MUSIC TEACHER (PERCUSSION)

At STAHS Prep, the role of Visiting Music Teacher (Percussion) will be to deliver high-quality teaching to pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 at our Prep School in Wheathampstead. We are seeking a Visiting Music Teacher for one day per week to meet growing demand for percussion tuition across the Prep School.

This is a new role; however, there is significant demand from pupils wishing to learn the drums, and we anticipate there being a full day of teaching from the outset. There may also be opportunities to support ensembles, as many of our pupils play percussion in orchestras and bands.

Our VMTs are expected to model the School's core values of scholarship, keep abreast of developments within their discipline, and challenge, support and inspire pupils in line with the strategic direction of the School and Music Department.

This position is offered on a self-employed, sessional basis at a standard hourly rate of £51 per hour.

The start date for this position is November 2026.This position involves contact with children and will amount to regulated activity as defined by Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for safeguarding children and safer recruitment.
