The Assistant Theatre Director supports the Head Theatre Director in providing a positive, educational, inclusive, and high-quality theatre experience for students. This position assists with the planning, preparation, rehearsal, production, and supervision of school theatre productions while helping students develop skills in performance, collaboration, leadership, responsibility, and stagecraft.

The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the Head Theatre Director, production staff, students, families, school administration, and the Activities Department to ensure productions are organized, safe, and aligned with school and district expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in theatre, performing arts, directing, education, or a related area.

• Previous experience working with high school students.

• Knowledge of theatrical production and rehearsal processes.

• Experience with acting, directing, technical theatre, stage management, or production management.

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and school administration.

• Ability to provide constructive feedback while maintaining positive relationships with students.

• Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends during rehearsals and productions.
