Urgently required

Applications are invited from Visiting Drums & Percussion Music Teachers to join our Music Department. This is a fixed-term appointment to provide urgent cover during the absence of the substantive postholder. The appointment is expected to continue until 7 April 2027, although it may end earlier if the substantive postholder returns to work before that date. Any extension beyond 7 April 2027 will be subject to review. The College will give as much notice as reasonably practicable of the expected end date.

This is a zero-hours position. It is currently anticipated that approximately 10 drum and percussion lessons per week will be available during the cover period. However, pupil numbers and teaching requirements may fluctuate and no minimum number of hours is guaranteed.

The hourly rate for the academic year 2026–2027 is £55.42 excluding any statutory and pension deductions. This comprises a base hourly rate of £49.45, plus statutory holiday pay calculated at 12.07%, equating to £5.97 per hour.
