Music is a central part of the Junior School experience, with every child learning an orchestral instrument through class instrumental lessons alongside curriculum musicianship. The successful candidate will inspire students of all abilities, helping them to develop confidence, creativity and a lifelong appreciation of music.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons, including curriculum musicianship and class instrumental teaching.

• Support students to achieve their full musical potential through inclusive and differentiated practice.

• Lead and develop choral and/or instrumental ensembles and contribute to the College's extensive performance programme.

• Create exciting performance opportunities for musicians ranging from beginners to advanced performers.

• Foster a positive learning environment where wellbeing, creativity and student growth are prioritised.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Music Department and wider College community.

• Play an active role in the College's pastoral and co-curricular programmes.

• Support music provision across both the Junior and Senior Schools as required.

Experience of leading instrumental or choral ensembles, accompanying performances, using music technology and the ability to lead brass groups would be advantageous.

The Junior School

Our Junior School caters for 880 enthusiastic learners aged between 7 and 11. Everything we do is underpinned by a culture of safety and wellbeing for all members of the community. We build upon the excellent foundations laid in DUCKS and develop a depth of academic knowledge as well as the life skills and mindset needed to prepare students for the best possible success in our Senior School. We want children to leave Year 6 as motivated, independent and collaborative learners.
