JodyJazz Inc. recently hosted a visit to their facilities with the educational rep team of leading school music dealers and Portman’s Music.

The visit included a tour of the manufacturing facilities, a luncheon, and a presentation from JodyJazz president and founder Jody Espina. Espina demonstrated the range of each JodyJazz mouthpiece and also discussed student mouthpiece selection, reed selection, and the challenges that school band directors are presented with in 2017.

“We know that Portman’s Music only has a couple of opportunities during the year to get together with their entire Ed Rep team. So we appreciate it very much that they would spend some of that valuable time here with us,” said Jody Espina. “We were excited to give the Ed Reps the opportunity to see the mouthpieces actually being made. There is no better way to demonstrate to them just how much work, care, and attention goes in to the making of each and every one. Portman’s Music is a first-class organization and we are very proud that they have supported our products in their stores for such a long time.”

“For years, I’ve heard customers and our saxophone-playing salesmen praise the quality and craftsmanship of JodyJazz mouthpieces, but I could not fully appreciate why until I took a tour of the facility with our Ed Reps,” said Jerry Portman, owner of Portman’s Music. “The combination of advanced technology, precision engineering, and hands-on fabrication, with individually stylized mouthpieces for different genres of music, has earned the Jody Jazz brand the much-deserved reputation as one of the world’s best saxophone mouthpieces, in my opinion. I would strongly encourage any retailer to take the time to visit the JodyJazz manufacturing facilities here in Savannah and experience first-hand the expertise and care that goes into each mouthpiece produced.”
