Juilliard will host a joint music librarian-musicological congress in June focusing on music research in the digital age.

 “Music Research in the Digital Age” is the Theme of This Year’s Conference to be Held June 21-26, 2015

First Time the Two Organizations Will Meet in NYC and at The Juilliard School

NEW YORK –– The Juilliard School will host a joint music librarian-musicological congress this summer from June 21-26, 2015. Approximately 600 members of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Centres (IAML) and the International Musicological Society (IMS) will take part in presentations and discussions on the theme of “Music Research in the Digital Age.” This will be the first time the two organizations will be meeting in New York City and the first time at The Juilliard School.

Juilliard President Joseph W. Polisi will welcome attendees at an opening reception on Sunday, June 21, 2015, and Jane Gottlieb, Juilliard’s Vice President for Library and Information Resources, will serve as chair for the first conference plenary session, “Digitizing Musical New York (and more): BAM, Carnegie Hall, and the New York Philharmonic” featuring archivists and directors from those organizations.

Topics of the conference will range from the broad –– “Copyright in a Changing Digital Landscape” –– to the particular –– “Methodologies in the Study of Musicological Research Documenting the Music of Hungarian Jews.”
