Beginning with tonight’s MSM Symphony Orchestra performance, the renowned music conservatory’s College Division performance season is once again open to public audiences: proof of vaccination and valid piece of I.D. required for entry

Manhattan School of Music (MSM) President James Gandre and Executive Vice President and Provost Joyce Griggs have announced that, beginning tonight, the renowned international music conservatory will once again open its College Division performance season to public audiences.

Public performances were suspended in March 2020, and to date this season, only MSM’s on-campus community has been permitted to attend performances. (Performances in the Precollege Division will be reopening at a later date still to be announced.)

All audience members at MSM will be required to show both proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and valid photo identification before being allowed admittance to the campus. Masks must be worn in all performance venues and elsewhere on campus in accordance with the School’s current policies.

MSM has waited until this point in its fall performance season to open up to the public out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of first ensuring that this fall’s full return to campus by students, faculty, and staff, as well as the guidelines that made that return possible (including vaccine and mask mandates), would prove sustainable. That has been the case.

The first two on-campus performances that this announcement will impact are both this evening at 7:30 pm. They are the MSM Symphony Orchestra with the MSM Women’s Chorus in Neidorff-Karpati Hall and the Singers and Collaborative Pianists Seminar Recital in Greenfield Hall.
