Maryland collegiate music educators have a limited opportunity to participate in the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Collegiate Leadership Advocacy Summit. The Maryland Music Educators Association reported that the summit provides a chance for students and emerging educators to connect with peers and leaders nationwide.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet with federal legislators on Capitol Hill, advocating for music education initiatives. The Maryland Music Educators Association emphasized that the summit offers valuable professional development and resources for future music educators.
NAfME Collegiate provides networking opportunities and supports music educators through local activities and national issues. The Maryland Society for Music Teacher Education (MSMTE), a component organization of the MMEA, offers additional information and resources for current and future educators. Interested students and educators are encouraged to register soon, as spaces are limited.
The Maryland Music Educators Association encourages students to start a chapter or become a member to further engage in these opportunities.
